On 9 March, the Royal Military Academy opens its doors to the general public. That day, our staff members and cadets will give you information about the range of career opportunities at Defence. You can ask them about the selection procedure, the admission tests and the various courses in preparatory, basic and advanced education.
There are also several activities scheduled and you can take a look at the different academic departments, laboratories, accommodation and sports infrastructure. All components of Defence are represented at various stands and give demonstrations. For each component, recently graduated officers will advise and assist you with all your questions!
The zones
We have divided our campus into different zones and would like to give you a brief idea of what there is to discover below.
Zone Tradition
In this zone, you will be immersed in the rich past of the Royal Military Academy (RMA) through various guided tours of the RMA and/or the historic main building including the Museum.
Zone Academic education
Here you will learn all about the different programmes we offer such as Social & Military Sciences, Polytechnics or Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Nautical Sciences, air traffic controller or pilot of the Auxiliary and the Medical Technical Corps. In addition, the various faculties with their departments are happy to present themselves to you and be sure to check out the demonstrations in the numerous laboratories!
Zone Catering
Of course, among all these things to discover, we mustn't forget our physiological needs... You can enjoy a delicious hot meal in the Mess. In the Cafeteria you will always find a hot or cold drink and smaller snacks and sandwiches. Please note that in the RMA, you can only pay electronically.
Zone Career at Defence
Defence has five components: Land Component, Navy Component, Air Component, Medical Component and Cyber Command. Each component will happily guide you through the many tasks and missions, which they deal with on a daily basis. The components are also present on the Parade Ground, so be sure to have a look. This will give you a better idea about the many career opportunities at Defence.
Zone Sports
The principle ‘mens sana in corpore sano’ is held in high regard at the RMA. For that reason, you can attend demonstrations and competitions in our impressive, largely underground sports infrastructure, ranging from swimming, over judo and close combat, to fencing, climbing, ...
